It was said about al-Hassan al-BiSriyy that he once stood at the edge of a grave after its occupant had been buried in it. Then he turned to a man who was next to him and said: if he (the one who was buried) returned to this world, what do you think he would do? The man replied: ask for forgiveness, pray, and increase the good deeds. So al-Hassan said: that has passed him; do not let it pass you.
